Description
Near-Mint Mercury Dime
55% Off Center with Obverse Brockage
Undated Mercury Dime -- 55% Off Center with Mirror Brockage on
Obverse -- AU58 NGC. Far off center toward 6 o'clock relative
to the obverse. The struck portion of the obverse displays an
incused and reversed image of the reverse: a first-strike or
perfect brockage, albeit off center. This error occurred when a
coin (not this one) stuck to the obverse die after the strike. It
then acted as an obverse die for the present coin, which was fed
off center between the reverse die and the previously struck coin.
