    Description

    Obverse Die Cap Statehood Quarter

Undated Philadelphia Mint Statehood Quarter--Obverse Die Cap--MS66 NGC. This coin stuck to the obverse (portrait side) die upon the first strike, and was struck many additional times, forcing metal around the top of the obverse die. The reverse is featureless due to repeated strikes against newly fed planchets, thus it is impossible to identify which state the quarter commemorates. Lustrous and lightly toned with a mark-free appearance.
