Description

Surreal Reverse Copper Layer of a Lincoln Cent
With Multiple Impressions on Inner Side, MS64 Red

Undated Reverse Copper Layer of a Lincoln Cent--Struck Through--MS64 Red PCGS. 4.6 grains. The PCGS label says "struck through," but a more plausible explanation of this nigh-inexplicable coin is that a cent was struck, but the copper layer over the reverse peeled away, and the rest of the coin remained between the dies. The zinc impression of the reverse was then pressed into the copper layer multiple times. However this error came about, it is a fascinating item with a substantial partial fin.
