Description

Menelik II Proof Birr EE 1892 (1900) PR65 NGC, KM19. An exemplary Proof of this well-collected type. The immense surfaces retain impressive argent centers, with a layer of champagne that delicately drapes the entirety of the flan, along with a collection of more dramatic colors, mainly amber and charcoal, that dapple the outer registers on both sides. Pinpoint detailing is immediately observed throughout the designs, and the whole of the motifs are fully bold due to an exacting strike. Very much a conditional jewel, and one that is worthy of a winning bid that surpasses our high estimate.
