    Description

1884-1885 Industrial Exposition Award Medal. Bronze, 73.4 mm, 229.1 gm. Dies by P.L. Krider of Philadelphia. Obverse features an allegorical scene featuring industry, art, and agriculture with NEW ORLEANS at center and 1884-5 in exergue. Reverse: two shields at bottom with AWARDED BY THE WORLD'S INDUSTRIAL AND COTTON CENTENNIAL EXPOSITION within an ornate wreath. Signs of mishandling in the form of rim cuts and minor bruises, as well as scattered abrasions. With the aid of magnification, corrosion is observed within the recesses of the design details. Despite the problems, this example shows well.
