R.3, MS65 Brown PCGS. CAC. The UNITED STATES subtype of the
1787 Fugio cent is significantly scarcer in Mint State than the
STATES UNITED variant, and examples grading as fine as Gem are
notably rare. The population difference translates to CAC
endorsements as well; some 257 STATES UNITED coins are
CAC-stickered, but only 78 UNITED STATES pieces. This is one of the
six finest CAC-endorsed UNITED STATES pieces in Brown (12/25).
Hints of Red remain in the most protected areas, with uniform
burgundy-brown overall. The strike is bold, albeit from the usual
clashed dies, with no obvious impairments. Listed on page 52 of the
2026 Guide Book. PCGS Population: 13 in 65 (3 in 65+), 2
