1787 1C Fugio Cent, STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils, Pointed Rays, N. 13-X, W-6855, R.2, MS64 Brown PCGS. The W-6855 variety of the 1787 Fugio cent is a relatively available issue, reinvigorated in part by a sizable recovery amongst the Bank of New York Hoard. This impressive Choice example offers chocolate-brown surfaces that show slight granularity in some areas, with prominent clash marks on the obverse and the diagnostic vertical die crack at 6 o'clock on the reverse. The design elements are bold and traces of mint luster shine through the patina. Listed on page 52 of the 2026 Guide Book.
