$4,000.00
Bid Source: Internet bidder
Description
1856 1C VG 8 ANACS. With a tiny mintage of approximately 634 pieces, more than 1,000 restrikes of this popular issue were minted between 1858 and 1859; many of which are indistinguishable from the original coins. The example offered here is well circulated but the devices are clearly visible and a bit of fine detail remains. The surfaces are original and other than wear, the coin is problem-free and an excellent piece to fill that difficult opening in a Flying Eagle/Indian Head cent album.
