1857 Flying Eagle Cent, MS63 Prooflike
Rare With Reflective Fields
1857 1C MS63 Prooflike NGC. The vast majority of 1857 Flying
Eagle cents exhibit satiny or softly frosted mint luster, but a
handful of pieces have reflective fields. This is one of six coins
in Prooflike at NGC, and only three PCGS coins are similarly
designated (6/25). A sharp strike characterizes each side, and
bright copper-gold color complements the reflectivity of the
fields. Scattered small marks and a few small specks characterize
