Description

1857 Flying Eagle Cent, MS65
A Boldly Struck Specimen

1857 1C MS65 NGC. The 1857 Flying Eagle cent is seldom seen finer than the Gem level of the present coin, among other reasons due to the inexperience of Mint personnel with striking the hard copper-nickel alloy with sufficient force to produce a sharp impression. This is one such, with generous eye appeal, a bold strike, and excellent almond-tan coloration. NGC has certified 14 pieces finer (9/11).(Registry values: N2998)
