Description

1857 Flying Eagle Cent, MS65
Bold Strike, Sharp and Pleasing

1857 1C MS65 NGC. The distinctive eagle on the Flying Eagle cent was modeled after Christian Gobrecht's silver dollar of 1836, one of America's most memorable and beautiful renditions of the eagle in flight. Soft luster visits the copper-tan surfaces of this exceptionally bold example, with very few abrasions or marks of any kind to distract from the detailed devices. The eagle is particularly well-detailed, giving this Gem example exceptional eye appeal. NGC has certified just 14 examples in a higher numeric grade (3/14).(Registry values: N2998)
