Description
1857 Flying Eagle Cent, MS65
Scarce in High Grades
1857 1C MS65 NGC. Although often available in Select or
near-Gem condition, this issue is scarce in full Gem Mint State and
rare any finer. A bold strike complements attractive, khaki-gold
surfaces of this Gem example. A pleasing, lustrous glow reveals
excellent feather detail on the eagle. The wreath is well-brought
up except at the lower left, where some striking weakness is seen
on the high-point leaves. Just 28 pieces are certified in a higher
numeric grade by PCGS and NGC combined (3/14).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2276, PCGS# 2016, GSID# 15313)
