Description
Gem 1857 Flying Eagle Cent
1857 1C MS65 PCGS. CAC. While the 1856-dated proofs are famous and widely collected today, the regular Flying Eagle cent issues began in 1857 with a mintage of more than 17 million pieces. This Gem is among the best-preserved survivors of that historic issue, well-defined and lustrous with a mix of orange and peach colors and occasional lavender-violet accents. Housed in a green label holder. PCGS has graded 14 coins finer (8/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2276, PCGS# 2016, GSID# 15313)
