1857 Flying Eagle Cent, MS65
Splendid Strike and Color
1857 1C MS65 PCGS. An outstanding Gem type coin. The
pumpkin-gold surfaces are lustrous and display only trivial
contact. A lens is required to locate infrequent minute carbon. The
strike is precise except for incompleteness on the A in STATES.
Relatively few high-grade Flying Eagle cents retain their initial
color, but the present coin is little changed from its appearance
during the Buchanan administration.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2276, PCGS# 2016, GSID# 15313)
