1857 Flying Eagle Cent, MS65
Important Transitional Issue

1857 1C MS65 PCGS. A short diagonal die crack connects the top left serif of the N in CENT to the inside base of the E below the crossbar. This is the first collectible year of small cent coinage as the Mint transitioned from the large cents that were first produced in 1793. A lovely Gem, this example features a bold strike and brilliant luster with satiny tan surfaces. PCGS has only certified 25 finer examples (3/20).(Registry values: N2998)
