Description
1858 Large Letters Cent, MS66
Exceptional Quality
1858 1C Large Letters MS66 NGC. High Leaves Reverse. Closed
E in ONE. Flying Eagle cents were struck for circulation for only
two years. Final-year examples have four design subtypes,
identified by the proximity of the AM in AMERICA, and the location
of the two leaf tips near the base of CENT. The present Premium Gem
ranks among the best examples obtainable in an NGC holder. Both
sides appear completely carbon-free, and the satiny sharply struck
surfaces are essentially unabraded.Ex: Milwaukee ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2007), lot 1552; Small Cents Showcase Auction (Heritage, 4/2023), lot 54014.(Registry values: N4719)
