Description

1858 Flying Eagle Cent, MS66
Large Letters, Terrific Eye Appeal
CAC Approved

1858 1C Large Letters MS66 PCGS. CAC. High Leaves Reverse. This Premium Gem is exceptionally well-struck, displaying pinpoint-sharp detail at the eagle's high points and throughout the wreath. A blush of reddish-tan toning overlays silver-white nickel surfaces that are virtually free of noticeable marks or abrasions. A prominent obverse die crack curves downward from the tail to the rim at 5 o'clock. Pleasing mint luster glows undisturbed throughout each side. While MS66 examples are occasionally available for the date, finer examples are rare. PCGS reports only three numerically finer Large Letters examples. This CAC-endorsed coin is unseen at auction for nearly 20 years and remains in its original PCGS holder from that time period. PCGS Population: 61 in 66 (11 in 66+), 3 finer. CAC: 19 in 66, 2 finer (9/24).(Registry values: N4719)
