Description

1858 Large Letters Flying Eagle Cent
Sharp and Pristine MS66

1858 1C Large Letters MS66 PCGS. High Leaves Reverse. Closed E in ONE. The 1858 Large Letters Flying Eagle cent shows the AM in AMERICA touching at the bases. The issue is scarce in MS66, and only a few pieces are known in finer grades. We have previously handled only a single coin in a higher grade, in our 2003 FUN Signature, where an MS67 PCGS coin realized $40,250. The present Premium Gem yields satiny, vibrant luster bathed in a lovely lilac-blonde hue. The coin is pristine and sharp throughout, marking it as a standout example of the issue, ideal for advanced Registry collectors. Population: 60 in 66 (10 in 66+), 3 finer (3/24).(Registry values: N4719)
