Description
Choice 1858/7 Flying Eagle Cent
1858/7 1C MS 64 PCGS. This is a late die state, and the underdigit is no longer visible. Since the eagle's right (facing) wing tip is weakly detailed and detached from the rest of the wing, there is no doubt that this coin is an example of the scarce 1858/7 (Snow-1) variety. Variegated shades of lilac, tan, and honey-gold color dance across both sides of this original near-Gem. Most features are sharply defined, and a few carbon flecks on the obverse are all that separates this smooth example from an even higher grade.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2276, PCGS# 2022, Greysheet# 15322)
Weight: 4.70 grams
