Description

Contested 1858/7 Cent, MS62

1858/7 1C MS62 ANACS. FS-301, Snow-1. Large Letters, High Leaves, Closed E. The tiny die chip above the first 8 is clearly visible, and this, along with the broken wing tip, is characteristic of the late die state of this want list favorite. The traces of the underdigit 7 have worn from the die, but the markers remain to confirm the attribution. Unabraded and satiny with a typical strike on the beak and cotton leaves. The borders and devices are orange-gold, while the open fields have toned olive.(Registry values: N2998)
