Description

Napoleon III gold 100 Francs 1868-A MS64 PCGS, Paris mint, KM802.1, Gad-1136. Mintage: 2,315. Among the more difficult dates from this highly collectible series to acquire in upper tiers of preservation, with the vast majority of those certified ranking just below Choice Mint State. Here on offer is an impressive conditional survivor, bathed in velveteen appearances the result of an exacting strike. Of the more than 300 examples submitted to the major grading services, only two rank finer by a mere half and full grade point.
