Description

1953-D Franklin Half, MS67 Full Bell Lines
Tied for Finest Certified

1953-D 50C MS67 Full Bell Lines PCGS. CAC. Although the 1953-D Franklin half dollar was produced in large numbers, the issue is extremely rare in Superb Gem condition, with Full Bell Lines. The 1953-D was surprisingly well-struck, but most otherwise high-grade specimens have excessive bagmarks, with deep gouges and scrapes and occasional water spots. Fortunately, this spectacular Superb Gem refutes all those charges and possesses extraordinary eye appeal to go with the high technical grade. The design elements are sharply detailed, with Full Bell Lines definition. The surfaces are impeccably preserved, with vibrant mint luster under iridescent shades of greenish-gold, cerulean-blue and lavender-gray toning. This coin should find a home in the finest collection or Registry Set. Population: 2 in 67 Full Bell Lines, 0 finer (4/14).(Registry values: N7079)
