Description

1953-S Half Dollar, MS64 Full Bell Lines
A Significant 20th Century Rarity

1953-S 50C MS64 Full Bell Lines PCGS. The 1953-S is clearly the rarest Franklin half dollar with a full strike, and examples rarely appear in the market regardless of grade. This Choice Mint State specimen exhibits the required complete bell lines on the reverse. Brilliant, untoned examples of this date are frequently encountered from original rolls, but they are rarely well struck. Rick Tomaska has described the 1953-S Full Bell Line Franklin half dollars as one of the most significant rarities in 20th century U.S. coinage. Population: 14 in 64 (1 in 64+) Full Bell Lines, 23 finer (2/13).(Registry values: N2998)
