Conditionally Scarce Key Issue
1953-S 50C MS65 Full Bell Lines PCGS. Any serious Registry
Set collector of business strike Franklin half dollars should be
mindful of this coin's outstanding Gem characteristics. The 1953-S
is one of the key issues in the series, especially when examples
with Full Bell Lines are discussed. Only 23 Gems with this
important caveat have been designated as such by PCGS, and the
company has graded just one finer piece as MS66 Full Bell Lines
(3/14).This lustrous, untoned Franklin half, with shimmering surfaces that exhibit outstanding preservation, is one of the most attractive examples of this San Francisco date that we have examined in recent years. Minimal marks exist on each side, and are fully in-line with the MS65 assessment by PCGS. Population: 23 in 65 Full Bell Lines, 2 finer (8/15).(Registry values: N4719)
