Description

1954-S Franklin Half, MS67
Condition Rarity, Richly Toned

1954-S 50C MS67 PCGS. This issue has one of the lowest mintages of the series with just under 5 million pieces produced. Most examples are softly struck, without bell lines. Superb Gem examples are extremely rare, with PCGS certifying just two pieces at the MS67 level as well as a single MS67 with Full Bell Lines -- which garnered over $20,000 when it traded hands about 14 years ago. This colorfully toned example is lustrous and well-struck for the issue. The bell lines are not complete but display better-than-average detail. Elsewhere, the coin is smooth and lustrous with only a few scattered abrasions. Almost impossible to find in this condition with none certified finer by either major service (12/13).(Registry values: N1793)
