Description

1959-D Half Dollar, MS67 Full Bell Lines
Surprisingly Scarce Issue

1959-D 50C MS67 Full Bell Lines PCGS. The 1959-D is a surprisingly scarce late-date Franklin half. Not because of its mintage, but because of the high percentage of heavily bagmarked coins of the entire production. This is a remarkably clean example. Both sides are attractively toned with silver-blue centers and golden-rose patina around the margins. Strong underlying mint luster enlivens the surfaces. Population: 11 in 67 (2 in 67+) Full Bell Lines, 0 finer (10/21).(Registry values: N7079)
