1963-D Half Dollar, MS67+ Full Bell Lines
    The Finest Example Certified

1963-D 50C MS67+ Full Bell Lines NGC. The 1963-D Franklin half dollar does not necessarily stand out as a great rarity. It proves widely available through mid-Uncirculated grade levels with or without Full Bell Lines, and can be obtained without too much effort in MS66 FBL. The population decline at the MS67 level defies expectation, however. More than 67 million of these final-year half dollars were struck, yet only three submissions at NGC plus one at PCGS have been certified MS67 Full Bell Lines. None have been graded without Full Bell Lines. This is the only example at either service with a Plus designation and is therefore the finest by that margin. Aside from the mostly brilliant obverse, this Superb Gem is vibrantly toned in multicolor iridescence. The reverse is especially attractive. Fully struck with radiant underlying mint luster. Census: 3 in 67 (1 in 67+) Full Bell Lines, 0 finer (4/19).(Registry values: N7079)

The Draped Bust Half Dollars of 1796-1797 by Jon Amato

The Draped Bust Half Dollars of 1796-1797 by Jon Amato is the culmination of more than 10 years of research into the Draped Bust Small Eagle half dollar series, one of the most coveted type coins in American numismatics and one about which remarkably little has been written.

This work will be the premier reference for 1796-1797 half dollars for years to come. Institutions having an extensive numismatic library or coin cabinet will find it a valuable complement to their holdings, and catalogers charged with writing up specimens for auction can now have an indispensable source of background and pedigree information. Likewise, coin dealers seeking to purchase one or more '96 or '97 half dollars for a client or for inventory, and collectors who own, have owned, or desire to own one will want this important reference work for their libraries.
