Description

German Colony. Wilhelm II 1/2 Rupie 1891 MS67 NGC, Berlin mint, KM4, J-712. The 1891 issue seen here boasts the lowest mintage from the three dates produced over a ten year period from 1891 to 1901. NGC has yet to certify a representative above the Superb Gem Mint State assignment presented here, though PCGS claims two MS68 pieces on their population reports. First year issues were often saved by collectors so Brilliant Uncirculated survivors are to be expected but specimens of such amazing quality are still outliers and thus provoke a powerful response by collectors upon offer. The dappled, sometimes colorful, patina is wholly original and the satin luster is undisturbed; the finest example we've handled in a few years.
