Description
Augsburg. Free City Taler 1626 MS64 NGC, Augsburg mint, KM41, Dav-5021A, Forster-183. With the name and titles of Ferdinand II. A pleasing and somewhat understated piece with strong underlying cabinet tones, only truly appreciable when viewed under good light. Admittedly bound in its designation by some mild cabinet friction over the imperial eagle, it hardly seems fair to use the term "limited" with this offering, considering its joint-finest certified grade. We have handled the only other this fine, which realized $2820 in our April 2014 CICF sale.Ex. Dr. Busso Peus Nachfolger Auction 390 (May 2007, Lot 388)
