Description

Bavaria. Maximilian II 2 Taler 1861 MS62 PCGS, Munich mint, KM862, Thun-100. Certainly a conditional rarity in this near-choice grade, and a seemingly scarcer date than its relatively high initial mintage (the largest for the type) would at first suggest, with this being, to date, the sole certified example. Lightly patinated in the margins with watery luster in the fields, and a strong target for the collector of German multiple talers.

Metal: Silver
Diameter: 41mm
