Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. August II "88th Birthday" 2 Taler 1666-Dated AU55 NGC, Zellerfeld mint, KM482.1, Dav-LS87, Welter-785. With no value "2" stamped on reverse. 63mm. 57.09gm. Commemorating August the Younger's 88th birthday. Obverse displays capped bust crowned by two angels, while on reverse is an ornately plumed helm within a wreath of 14 small crowned coats of arms, below which are the initials HS (Henning Schlüter, mint master in Zellerfeld 1626-1672). Pewter surfaces glow with tangerine and amber hues, revealed when in motion.Metal: AE
