Bavaria. Ludwig I 2 Taler 1844 MS64 PCGS, KM814, Dav-589, Thun-74. A beautiful, choice selection endowed with a vibrant pearlescent glow that results from a rosy patina laid upon highly watery surfaces. Lagoon-blue highlights contrast at the peripheries, further heightening what can only be described as the utmost visual charm. One of only four examples seen by PCGS to date, only two of which rank Mint State.Ex. UBS Gold & Numismatics Auction 82 (January 2009, Lot 613)
