Hamburg. Free City gold Ducat 1742-IHL MS66 NGC, KM394, Fr-1123. With the name and titles of Emperor Karl VII. By far the finest example of its type that we have seen, the precision and clarity of the strike so stark as to create an appearance that is almost medallic by comparison, with a near-cameo effect achieved by the textured devices against the fields surrounding.
