Description

Hamburg. Free City gold Specimen "300th Anniversary of the Civic Constitution" Medal of 10 Ducats 1828 SP62 PCGS, Gaed-2043. 41.5mm. 34.91gm. By H.F. Brandt. Commemorating the 300th anniversary of the city constitution and struck to a weight of 10 Ducats. Wholly resplendent and punctuated by brilliant, honeyed appearances, this survivor is among the most coveted 19th century Medals of Hamburg origin. One of a handful of this fascinating Medal type that utilizes a juxtaposition of both mirrored and frosted panels, also witnessed on contemporary prize issues. A fine composition that will surely propel this into the collection of a German States specialist.
