Hamburg. Free City gold 1/2 Portugalöser of 5 Ducats 1730 MS62 NGC, Gaed-1805. 39mm/17.4g. By von Goedeke. A highly-detailed commemorative dated 25 June 1730 that commemorates the Bicentennial of the Augsburg Confession and features the fully-elevated, intricately-styled bust of Martin Luther. The reverse imagery is equally stunning and displays an open Gospel and book flanking a lit candle atop a draped table--all of which are surrounded by vivid, golden fields that express prooflike reflectivity and few marks for the grade. Visually superior and in an exciting state of preservation, this wonderful selection which celebrates an historic document for the Lutheran movement is sure to elicit great attention from the collector of Reformation material.

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
