Hamburg. Free City gold Medal of 3 Ducats ND (c. 1710) MS63 NGC, Gaed-134, cf. Vogel-8740 (in 5 Ducat weight). 32mm. 10.46gm. Pleasing and highly attractive, this intriguing medallic type features the rhyming proverb Ora et Labora, Deus aderit sine mora ("Work and pray; God will aid you without delay"). Interestingly, we have been able to locate only two other examples of this medal in recent auction records, each in a different weight (4 and 5 Ducats).Metal: Gold
