Description

Hesse-Cassel. Wilhelm V Taler 1633-(Clover) AU58 NGC, KM141, Dav-6748. Rare and highly sought, this taler remains rather attractive for the type, possessing old tone that displays multicolored hues in places, surfaces that show only light handling and a strike that is consistent, but just short of full in places. Amazingly, this is only example of the type to appear in a search of archived auction data since a slightly finer example appeared in a 2012 Kunker auction, that piece bringing 9,000 Euros at the time. Given the long duration since that sale, we expect strong competition for this charming piece.
