Hesse-Darmstadt. Ludwig IV 5 Mark 1888-A MS65 NGC, Berlin mint, KM-360. Mintage: 8,940. A singular issue that absolutely mesmerizes, presenting layers of silvery-gray patina that sit above glowing blush and coppery color, fields that are resoundingly clear, and design illustrations that are crisply-defined due to an exacting strike. Isolated instances of charcoal tone dot the surfaces here and there, only adding to this Crown's appeal. Presently tied with only one other example in this top certified quality, and highly-engaging as such.
