    Description

Hesse-Darmstadt. Ludwig IV 5 Mark 1891-A, KM364, Dav-710, MS64+ PCGS. A scarce issue in general and very rare in this level of preservation. The The surfaces are fully lustrous with mottled russet tone and very choice; the grade is here defined by an abrasion to Ludwig's forehead. A couple of proofs of this type have surfaced in the past decade but this cataloger has been unable to locate a business strike of this premium quality.
