Rare Nürnberg 1712 "Fireworks" Medal

Nürnberg. Free City silver "Fireworks Display for Karl VI" Medal 1712 AU55 NGC, Montenuovo-1383, Erlanger-1082. 44mm. 29.2gm. By Georg Wilhelm Vestner. Struck to celebrate Karl VI. CAROLVS VI D G ROM IMP S A GERM HISP HVNG & BOH REX Armored bust of Karl VI right // LAETA NORIS CAROLO FIDEI DEDIT IGNIBVS IGNES Fireworks scene; DIE HOMAGIJ / XVI IANVARII in exergue. A highly unusual and visual engaging specimen, rarely encountered in any metal let alone in silver, with only a few coming to market in as many decades. A uniform battleship gray appearance envelopes the piece at hand, punctuated by mottle iridescence that serves to elevate the eye appeal fully.
