Saxe-Weissenfels. Johann Adolf I Taler 1686-SQ MS63 NGC, Weissenfels mint, KM20, Dav-7663. Intricately detailed over both sides with alluring intermingled gold, rose and blue iridescent tone that sits atop surfaces that possess impressive reflective gleam. A rare type, struck upon the death of Johann Adolf I's wife, and long adored for its depiction of Christ, staff in hand, carrying a lamb on his shoulders. Easily the finest quality we've seen for the issue as well, and as such, sure to excite the collector specializing in elite pictorial issues.
