Saxony. Friedrich August III gold Medal 1769 AU, Dresden mint, Merseb-1931 (there in silver), Forrer IV-p.689. 32.5mm. 17.30gm. Obverse: FRID. AVGVST. DG DVX SAX. ELECTOR PAT. PATR. Armored and draped bust right; below signature CCP. Reverse: PRO SALVTE OPTIMI PRINCIPIS. Hygeia in a quadristyle temple; in exergue: VOTA SENAT. AND CIV. DRESD. HOMAGIO PRÆSTITO IIII APRIL. MDCCLXIX. A very scarce 18th century Saxony gold medal, displaying light handling but no damage and lovely golden-honey lustrous shimmer.
