Description

Saxony. Johann Georg II Klippe Taler 1662 AU Details (Obverse Tooled) NGC, Dresden mint, KM500, Dav-7631. 28.82gm. Struck to commemorate the marriage of Erdmuthe Sophie to Christian Ernst, featuring stunning imagery of laurel and chained columns to the obverse. Though tooling is noted to the holder, this is admittedly insignificant and does not detract from the coin's superior aesthetic caliber, showing only faint friction to high points and likely saw extremely little use in circulation. A remarkable example through and through.

Metal: Silver
