British Colony Countermarked Bitt ND (1761-1764) VF30 NGC, KM2 (under Martinique). 2.64gm. Host: Philip V Real 1733 M-JF (KM298, Cal-1546); Countermark: Heart-shaped type 1. An issue traditionally attributed to Martinique (in the Standard Catalog of World Coins) and Dominica, these heart-shaped pierced coins of Pridmore Types I and II are now confidently attributed to Gibraltar. The natural patina and the perfectly executed heart countermark make this an attractive offering for the specialist as well as the generalist seeking out exotic types.
