Description

1836 Gobrecht Dollar, PR60
Judd-60 Original, Medal Alignment
Green Label Holder

1836 $1 Judd-60 Original, Medal Alignment, Pollock-65, R.1, PR60 PCGS. Silver. Plain Edge. Die Alignment IV (center of Liberty's head is opposite the F in OF). Die State F at least; the state markers are clear through F, but the markers for the later two states could be obscured by the holder. The coin is housed in a generation 3.1 green label holder and described as a Restrike on the old insert. However, all Die Alignment IV coins are Originals. Only Die Alignment III is a Restrike.

This piece displays a sharp strike, though handling dulls the mirror effect in the fields and prevents a finer numeric grade. Blue-green, lavender, olive, and golden hues adorn each side, rendering the coin quite attractive for the PR60 designation.
