Description
1836 Gobrecht Dollar, PR50
Judd-60 Original, Die Alignment I
1836 P$1 Name on Base, Judd-60 Original, Pollock-65, R.1 PR50
PCGS. Silver. Plain Edge. No Stars Obverse, Stars Reverse. Die
Alignment I (coin turn, center of Liberty's head opposite the D in
DOLLAR). Die State A. Though light wear and some field chatter
would render some of the diagnostics for later states invisible,
this coin clearly lacks the die chips in the dentils above the
final A in AMERICA, which are the first defect to appear after Die
State A. Steel-gray surfaces yield an overall smooth and
problem-free appearance with some reflectivity still evident in the
protected areas of the fields. Detail is strong, as expected for
the PR50 level.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BLWT, PCGS# 11225, Greysheet# 69008)
Weight: 26.73 grams
