Pleasing 1849-D Gold Dollar, AU55
1849-D G$1 AU55 NGC. Variety 1-A. The more available of two varieties for the issue, with the mintmark shifted to the left compared to 1-B. Bright yellow-gold surfaces display hints of light tan. The design elements are generally well defined, except for the usual softness on the curls below LIBERTY. Both sides are devoid of significant marks.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25BD, PCGS# 7507, GSID# 8055)
