    1849-D G$1 MS61 NGC. Variety 1-B. The 1849-D is the only Dahlonega gold dollar issue that is relatively available in Mint State. This is an attractive, coppery-gold example, sharply struck and semireflective in the fields. Several die cracks exist on the reverse, and the mintmark is centered beneath the bow to confirm the die pair (one of two varieties known for the 21,588-piece mintage). Census: 49 in 61, 57 finer (9/19).(Registry values: N2998)
