Sharply Struck 1849-D Gold Dollar, MS61
1849-D G$1 MS61 NGC. Variety 1-A. The mintmark is slightly left of center below the ribbon knot. The bright yellow-gold surfaces of this D-mint gold dollar give off a slight greenish cast and exhibit sharply struck design elements. Both sides display a fair amount of luster, the most potent of which resides in the recessed areas. A couple of minute contacts exist on the reverse.
