    Rare in Gem Condition

1849 G$1 Closed Wreath, Breen-6005, Dannreuther-5, Close Stars, MS65 PCGS. Heavy date. Close Stars. Considerably scarcer than the Open Wreath Close Stars variant, the Closed Wreath variety is estimated at about one-fifth the mintage of its Open Wreath counterpart. Gem examples are rare. This delightful little Gem is extremely lustrous with a pinpoint-sharp strike. The Heavy Date is doubled and filled. Die clashing is visible on both the obverse and reverse, yet there are no marks of individual mention and the eye appeal is exceptional. Population: 22 in 65 (2 in 65+), 5 finer (5/17).
